Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay admitted he was disappoint with the defeat because everyone tried so hard.

The Tartans suffered a heartbreaking 1-2 defeat to Portugal in the Nations League A1 on Sunday night, leaving the Whisky Army with no points from two matches.

After the game, McTominay, who gave Scotland the lead in the 7th minute, said he was disappoint to lose because everyone in the team worked to their full potential.

“In many moments of the game we showed good value and before we lost the game we played very well,” said the Napoli midfielder.

“We showed strong defensively and our goalkeeper (Angus Gunn) made some good saves as well, which gave us confidence and belief that something was going to happen.

“We had our chances, knowing that Portugal have UFABET incredible players in the team, we had to take the chances in the game and again it’s disappointing to lose like this.”
